Nisha Kittan’s History
Nisha Kittan Lodge #114 was formed in 2009 after the merging of the Okaw Valley and Trails West Councils. The respective lodges of Taleka Lodge #81 and Kishkakon Lodge #32 were tasked with merging to create a new lodge.
A Consolidation Committee of youth leaders and advisors was formed to begin the process. Over the next several months the youth had selected a lodge name and totem. They continued to work on the Lodge By-Laws, officer structure, and the merging of organization and traditions. By summer of 2009, the Consolidation Committee had completed their work and communicated this to the members of both lodges. The Lodge was officially born October 1st, 2009.
